These Pirates Instead of Looting Are Handing Out Knowledge

Hyperinflation millions in banknotes. I got one myself.

During BTC Prague you couldn’t possibly miss seeing the pirate ship in the middle of the expo booths swarming with hot pirate ladies and people interested to know more about Amity Age.

Some of my photos of Anita and the other pirates as they were setting up during Industry Day.

From pirates we went to Bitcoin Barbies.

Today’s #BTCPrague outfit. And yes I’m a Bitcoin girl in a Bitcoin world

@itszussel

Here’s a tweet from Zussel, which I was happy to meet there. Talked to Carla and Walker as well since they finally got a moment of respite.

I loved @BtcPrague so much, connecting with amazing people, receiving everyone in our cool Satoship at @AmityAge booth. Enjoyed every second of it, and also couldn’t get enough of the city, hope to see you again next year !

@itszussel

Zussel teaches “My first bitcoin,” a diploma that educates young minds about personal finances, fiat, and of course bitcoin. You know, all the stuff that nobody ever taught us before. You can donate and help out their efforts on Geyser Fund. https://geyser.fund/project/educatebtcamityage

But why did Amity Age decide to go with the pirate ship as their booth? Here’s their answer:

Why we decided to have a pirate ship as our booth at

@BtcPrague? It has to do something with real pirates

Last year we decided to set up our Bitcoin Education Center on the beautiful Caribbean island of Roatan that belongs to Honduras. It is one of the most famous pirate islands of that region. 1/10

Pirates like BlackBeard and Captain Morgan (yes, the one from the rum bottle) had their hideouts here while attacking Spanish ships. There is even a Fort Morgan Cay (his private island) with a remains of his fortress from 18th century still standing. 2/10

It is said that there are still around 5 unfound pirate treasures in the caves around Roatan. Every year people come here and try their luck in finding them. 3/10

Being a Bitcoiner is in some ways like being a pirate. You fight the status quo. Search for freedom. Explore new unchartered waters. Flee from oppression. But opposite to many pirates – you respect private property 😉 4/10

Here are the 3 reasons why we decided to start our #Bitcoin Academy on Roatan 5/10

1.

@ProsperaGlobal jurisdiction is part of Roatan. Here is #Bitcoin a legal tender, U don’t need to pay capital gains from btc txs, U can pay your taxes in btc in 2 mins online and hopefully soon it will be the 1st jurisdiction in the wrld where you can do btc as unit of account.

Great thing is that here we can focus on doing what we love – education, and not waste our energy and resources for dealing with heavy bureaucracy nonsense or hide ourselves from the state. 7/10

2. People. Those that come to live on Roatan are mostly the ones who left USA or Canada because of where the countries were heading. Those people are the ones that value freedom much higher. I spent many hours talking with them about Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged or Bitcoin. 8/10

3. Location Roatan lies on the second largest coral reef in the world and has an amazing fauna and flora. Local people are super friendly and easy-going. And it is so much safer here than on the Honduras mainland. 9/10

And so here we are. Roatan #Bitcoin Pirates that came to

@BtcPrague to show what we do and where and how we do it. We are mining Bitcoin in Paraguay and thanks to it we can educate people about Bitcoin in Honduras. Become a Bitcoin Pirate with us 😉 10/10

It was indeed quite impressive, and I know they’re doing good work at Amity Age since I’ve listened to the Heartbit podcast with Anita telling us all about it.

I didn’t get a chance to talk to Dušan since we were all too busy. Maybe next year.
