Who is Anni? From Couch Potato to a Disciplined Hiker 

A little bit about me.

Since embarking on this journey, I’ve realized that it’s important for you all to get to know me better.

I’m originally from Greece and currently residing in Athens. While my background lies in engineering, my current focus is on growing my two personal ventures, one in Blockchain and one in Sales automation & AI.

For the first 32 years of my life, I wasn’t particularly fit. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, I underwent a complete change of mind. I made a 180° turn and started prioritizing my health and fitness. On top of this, I’ve always had a hobby (or rather, a minor obsession 😂) with optimizing every aspect of my life to perform at my best, regardless of the time of day or the activity at hand. 

So it kind of came naturally as I added health and fitness to my priorities for living. The same way as I was reading about the intricacies of Blockchains, I was reading about how to squat the right way and watching videos about hiking gear and heart rate variability, (more about this in the coming posts). I followed a couple of renowned fitness specialists and read their articles before bed. My instagram feed transformed from BTC price predictions and NFTs to trainers and yoga poses 😛. Seriously, take a look for yourself.

I started with walking, ensuring I did 6.000 steps, then 8.000 steps every day. Some days I would walk 10.000 steps or more, and I progressively took up small hikes in the nearby mountains. I started lifting weights and doing HiiT using an app. I bought barbells, bands and weights and went to construct my home gym in my living room with as little equipment as possible. The idea was to make exercising come easy, at any time of the day that I had some free time to spare.

Throughout my academic life, I consistently excelled, earning the title of the diligent geek. I’ve always been ambitious, striving to achieve greatness in everything I do. People often describe me as a high achiever and top performer, someone who tends to overdo, overthink, and overanalyze. While it’s not an easy path and requires a delicate balance, it has propelled me forward in life. Eventually, one must accept who they are.

So, 3 years ago I made a commitment to exercise daily, and I underwent a remarkable transformation. I went from being a couch potato to completely revamping my body and my attitude toward exercise. I now feel stronger, capable, and more alert than ever before. For me, exercise and a healthy lifestyle have become essential, sustainable components of my daily routine. I strive to strike a balance between my passion for work and technology, my entrepreneurial ambitions, and my basic human needs for nourishment, a healthy lifestyle, and personal strength. This post serves as a testament to the fact that with minor adjustments, one can achieve balance. It requires discipline, persistence, perseverance, and meticulous planning.
