The most powerful man on Earth demanded interest rates of 1% or less this week. He got a rate HIKE instead. His handpicked central banker voted against him. And Bitcoin, the asset both of them have spent a decade calling worthless, opened at $76,000 anyway. Without asking anyone for permission.
They spent all week trying to bury it. Here are the receipts.
"LOWER THE INTEREST RATES FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND FAST!"
That is what Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Wednesday, hours after the Federal Reserve voted 12-0 to raise rates for the first time in three years. He said rates "should be 1%, or less, because we are the Best Credit in the World – BY FAR."
Reality: 25 basis points. Unanimous. The federal funds rate now sits at 3.75% to 4.00%.
Trump still says he has confidence in Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, his own appointee. Then he blamed everyone else at the table.
"The board is very hostile. They’re very political. They’re doing the wrong thing."
"They’re raising the rates to make Trump do as bad as they can possibly can do."
Even his own chair got the shrug: "I told Kevin, ‘You might as well vote with the board. It’s not going to matter.’"
Let that sink in. The President of the United States admitted, out loud, that he cannot control the people who control the money. You don’t vote for them either. Nobody does.
THE RECEIPTS FROM INSIDE THE BUILDING
The Fed hiked because "inflation remains elevated." Why? Oil is above $100 a barrel because of the war in the Strait of Hormuz. Tariffs pushed goods prices up. The August PPI hit 5.4% on a war shock the Fed did not see coming.
And the dot plot says the machine is nowhere near done:
- 16 of 18 Fed officials expect at least one MORE hike before the end of 2026.
- Rates are projected to stay at 4.00%-4.25% through the end of 2027.
- They do not expect to hit their 2% inflation target until 2029.
- Your 30-year mortgage just hit 7.19% – up a full percentage point in a year.
- The 10-year Treasury yield topped 5% on Tuesday for the first time since 2007, the year before their last machine wrecked the global economy.
That is an $85-a-month mortgage increase for a $400,000 home. Credit cards repricing overnight. Savings accounts quietly losing to inflation every single quarter. And the man who is supposed to be in charge of that machine spent the day complaining that the machine will not listen to him.
MEANWHILE, THE ASSET THAT DOESN’T NEED ANYONE’S PERMISSION
On Monday, the Senate killed the CLARITY Act in a 49-50 vote – both parties buried your Bitcoin and walked away clean. On Tuesday, the so-called smart money dumped $450 million of spot Bitcoin ETFs in one day. On Wednesday, the Fed hiked.
And on Thursday morning, Bitcoin opened at $76,143. Up 0.7% on the day. Up 21.2% for the month. Ethereum: up 28.9%.
Read that again. A dead bill. A rate hike. A war shock. A five-percent Treasury yield. Every tool in the establishment’s toolbox, aimed at the asset they call worthless – and it is still up a fifth of its value in thirty days.
The all-time high was $126,198 back in October 2025. So no, this is not euphoria. This is a coin trading 40% below its peak, after the worst regulatory week in years, holding $76K while the two most powerful factions in Washington fought each other over which of them gets to make your money worth less.
That is not a bubble. That is a verdict.
WHAT ARE YOU STILL WAITING FOR?
You don’t get a vote on the Fed. You don’t get a vote in the Senate. The President doesn’t either, as he just found out. The only system that does not ask permission is the one that never needs it.
Bitcoin doesn’t need Trump. It doesn’t need Warsh. It doesn’t need a bill. It only needs you to stop holding the thing they keep diluting.

The President of the United States couldn’t get the interest rate he wanted this week. Your savings account didn’t get one either. Bitcoin didn’t ask for anything – and it opened at $76K.
So tell me: if the most powerful man on Earth can’t make the Fed do what he wants, what exactly are you expecting your bank account to do for you?
