They told you Monday was the day the Senate would finally decide your Bitcoin’s future.
It decided. The vote was 49 to 50.
The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act needed 60 votes just to advance to debate. It didn’t even get a bare majority. And with less than 36 business days left before 2027, the bill is dead for the year. Not delayed. Dead.
Both parties killed it.
Republicans spent months screaming that Democrats were stalling. Democrats, led by Elizabeth Warren, spent months screaming that the bill was a gift to the crypto industry. Warren told Congress the bill "posed a massive risk to families" and would put everyone "at risk of a crypto-fuelled economic crash." Then she reminded everyone how Trump’s family made a fortune off his memecoin while promising to "save" crypto.
Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed Bitcoin president, was forced to drop his family’s crypto cash grab days before the vote just to beg for support. It didn’t matter. The president of the United States could not round up 60 votes for the single most important piece of digital-asset legislation in American history.
And 18 state attorneys general piled on Monday, claiming the bill would weaken their power to police crypto fraud.
So now every player walks away clean: the politicians get their talking points, the lobbyists get their excuse, and Bitcoin holders get the bill.
Literally. Bitcoin briefly fell below $75,000 on the news — down more than 5% in a single day. A bill that was supposed to bring "clarity" just brought you a smack in the face instead.
We told you this was coming. The Senate was going to vote on your Bitcoin. Trump was forced to drop his family’s cash grab. The state prosecutors told Congress to kill the bill. And now the corpse is in the ground.
Here’s the part they don’t want you to notice: nobody lost except you.
The politicians lose nothing — they just stall everything and blame the other side. The exchanges lose nothing — they don’t need a law to keep custody of your coins. The only one exposed to this endless, cynical nothing is the person who actually holds Bitcoin and trusted Washington to get its act together.
The market just told you what it thinks of that trust: minus 5%.
So what now? The bill is dead for 2026. The Senate won’t touch it again before the midterms. You can wait another year for politicians to argue about your money, or you can stop waiting.
Your Bitcoin doesn’t need the Senate’s permission. It needs your keys.

The Senate voted 49-50 to bury the CLARITY Act. Your portfolio took the hit. Your representatives just proved, in public, on the record, that Bitcoin is a campaign prop to them and nothing more.
So tell me: after watching both parties bury the most important crypto bill in a decade — and watching your balance sheet pay for it — why would you trust them with a single satoshi of your stack?
