The city believes Athlon kept building and started operating anyway. No certificate of occupancy. No valid permits. Structures the city now flat-out flags as DANGEROUS.
So when the hydrant gave way and 3 million gallons ran down the drain, El Reno had seen the whole movie before. They condemned the property: failed water line, lack of maintenance and access, drainage issues, expired permits, no certificate of occupancy. Their words: the leak created “a hazard to the health, safety and welfare of the community.”
And how did the operator respond when local reporters spent two days calling every founder listed on the company website? Nobody answered. On camera, a man on the site told the crew they were on “private property”.
