Michael Saylor spent 2026 telling YOU to never sell a single sat. He dumped 7,000 Bitcoin into a crash to pay a Wall Street dividend. And now he wants $250 of your fiat for sneakers he won’t even let you buy with Bitcoin.
Welcome to the Strategy gift shop – where the Bitcoin company refuses to accept Bitcoin.
The Hypocrisy at Checkout
MicroStrategy’s merch store just dropped a pair of Air Jordan 1-inspired "Bitcoin Jordans": a custom build on the classic silhouette, stamped with Strategy branding. Price tag: $250. The store carries 53 products, from $10 Bitcoin shoelaces up to those $250 sneakers.
And here’s the part that should make every Bitcoiner laugh out loud: checkout accepts cards and Apple Pay and nothing else. Bitcoin itself buys nothing there.
Let that sink in. The company whose entire business model is "buy Bitcoin, hold Bitcoin, never sell Bitcoin" will not take Bitcoin at the register. The orange-pilled sneaker crowd shows up with sats and gets told to swipe a Visa instead.
The Never-Sell Preacher, Now Selling Kicks
This is the same man who sat out the entire crash at $79,000 (we covered that here), then dumped 7,000 Bitcoin into the dip to pay preferred dividends (we covered that here too). Now he’s trading on the Bitcoin brand to move $250 sneakers – denominated in dollars, settled through Apple Pay.
Meanwhile MSTR stock is up 45% in a month, erasing six months of losses, while Nike – the company that actually invented the Jordan – has lost nearly half its value in a year. Nike trades at $38.40, down 48.63% over the past twelve months and 40% since January. Bank of America just cut Nike to Neutral. The sneaker giant’s own CEO says he’s "so tired" of fixing the business.
So the marketing energy now belongs to Saylor’s balance sheet, not the sneaker company. A $250 Bitcoin-themed shoe drops, and the crypto crowd can’t even pay with the thing the shoe is named after.
What This Actually Tells You
This is adoption as theater. The brand uses Bitcoin’s logo, Bitcoin’s energy, Bitcoin’s community – then takes dollars at the door. They know exactly what their audience wants: to feel like they’re buying a piece of the orange pill. And they know their audience will pay with fiat anyway, because "you never sell."
Sound familiar? It’s the same trick the banks pulled for a decade: use Bitcoin talk to attract the deposits, then settle everything in fiat.
The Love Is Bitcoin Takeaway
You don’t need Saylor’s permission to hold Bitcoin, and you don’t need his sneakers to signal your conviction. If you want to spend with the Bitcoin standard working FOR you instead of against you, Bull Bitcoin takes your sats like an adult – use coupon LOVEISBITCOIN at checkout and stack without the theater.
The question is simple: if the biggest Bitcoin cheerleader on earth won’t take Bitcoin for his own merch, what chance does your corner cafe have – and why are you still holding dollars waiting for their approval?
